1 - 1:

Six of the competitors compete in the opening event, the men's giant slalom. Ritchie Neville and Nicky Clark finish in the bottom two and have to take part in a live ski jump to keep their place in the competition. Richie performs best leaving Nicky eliminated from the competition.
