A woman named Allison Cowley (Mena Suvari) claims to have escaped from Yin (Peter Weller). After Shawn sees something connecting him to Yang (Ally Sheedy), Shawn decides to use her in the investigation, which involves her leaving the psych ward. Since she was one of Yin's victims, Juliet struggles through the case, but she, like everyone else, is hell-bent on putting an end to Yin. Meanwhile, Shawn's mother (Cybill Shepherd) returns to Santa Barbara, and the team get a surprising message from Mary Lightly (Jimmi Simpson).
