Lance Corporal Jimmy Hobbs asks his girlfriend Norah, who works in the army canteen to marry him before going AWOL after being chased by Private Keenan. Corporal Barrowman, having taken an instant dislike to Private Wratten, arranges a search for a ‘stolen’ watch and announces Wratten as the thief.
