It's Rachel's birthday, and Ross is going to China. Chandler advises him to use the opportunity to overcome his feelings for Rachel. However, when Ross has gone, Chandler accidentally tells Rachel about Ross's feelings, and she is faced with a life-changing decision that will effect all six friends. Meanwhile, Joey's participation in a fertility study prevents him from sleeping with his sexual active girlfriend, Melanie.
