Documentary following police officers throughout Britain to find out how they feel about being on the front line, beginning with CID detectives from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. They are struggling with a spate of burglaries, and find their suspects are so used to interrogations they cannot be intimidated. Meanwhile, a man-hunt uncovers a corpse in a wood and a convicted paedophile is arrested following the attempted rape of a young boy.
