On 2 July 1994, USAir Flight 1016 stalls and crashes into a residential area while attempting to land atCharlotte/Douglas International Airportduring a thunderstorm, killing 37 of the 57 people on board. The investigation concluded that the aircraft encountered microburst-inducedwind shear, causing it to crash.
