12 - 2: Dear Heart

The RTS award-winning documentary series follows more patients being treated in the same 24-hour period at St George's in south west London: a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day. Mark, who's 52, is rushed to St George's by air ambulance after a road traffic collision that threw him from his motorbike and left him suffering a cardiac arrest and battling for survival. His wife Jacquie reveals how their relationship slowly blossomed from friendship into romance. Now they're married with two teenage sons. Kayley, who's 25, is brought to St George's after being thrown from her horse. On arrival, she has one leg longer than the other and doctors worry that she has a severe hip dislocation and other internal injuries. Her mother Gail was at the scene of the accident, and describes the pain of seeing her daughter injured doing the thing she loves.
